Welcome to the Northbrook Local Submission Page.
The Library values community collaboration and seeks to foster the talents of local creators. In order to introduce patrons to the wide variety of quality music, and to create a space for local musicians to share their music, we invite local musical artists to submit songs, band photos, album art, song lyrics, music videos, video interviews and other digital ephemera. Multimedia published will be available in the Northbrook Writes digital collection.
See info below for specific guidelines.
Submission Rules
SUBMITTING DIGITAL CONTENT TO NORTHBROOK LOCAL
The submission process is free, and only takes about 10 minutes. You are welcome to submit as many pieces of digital content as you would like. Before you submit, please make sure that your content is:
- Reflective of the Northbrook Library’s mission
- An original work to which you own the rights.
What Digital Content Can I Submit?
We encourage a diverse range of submissions that reflects and celebrates musical culture. Suggested content includes songs, album art, video interviews of musical artists and more!
Accepted File Formats
Audio files, Images, and Videos [MP3, JPEG, JPG, GIF, PNG, ePub2, ePub3 or PDF]
How Do I Digitize My Content?
There are plenty of resources available for easy DIY digitizing, including at your library! We encourage you to attend classes, ask for expert advice and use equipment in the library's Peltz Digital Suite in the Collaboratory.
Once uploaded, your music will stream for free, with opportunities to link to whichever web service you use to sell your albums, if applicable, and promote upcoming live shows!
